BOTTLE BUDDIES

WOW!!! Did I have a good time or what!?!

This activity had so many cool parts to it. recycling a bottle, colouring salt, making a memory and bringing to life my BOTTLE BUDDY. I couldn’t have been any more delighted when I finished and saw what I’d created.

Putting the time and effort into making something great and paying attention to memories with my bottle buddy was just like building a great relationship with a real buddy.

It’s amazing to see what you can build when you put your heart and soul into something.

Activity Description: Fill a bottle with colourful salt and bring it to life with arts and crafts.

Materials:

  • Bottle

  • Bottle cap, cork or cloth and elastic band or hair tie

  • Containers or bowls

  • Salt

  • Baking paper or paper (to roll chalk and salt)

  • Chalk

  • Faber Castell textas

  • Food dye

  • Stirring utensil

  • Funnel or make one from paper

  • Paper and pencil (time capsule)

  • Arts & crafts

  • Glue, double-sided tape or stick on Velcro dots

  • Scissors

  • Paint and paint brushes

  • Paint markers or permanent markers

  • Letter stickers

  • Safety pin

  • Yellow paper or cloth (for cape)

*Everything found at your local Spotlight, Officeworks or Bunnings store.

Steps:

  1. Find a bottle.

  2. Measure the amount of salt needed to fill bottle.

  3. Colour the salt.

  4. Allow dry time for salt (depending on method used to colour it)

  5. Write time capsule and place it in bottle.

  6. Fill bottle with colourful salt and put the lid on.

  7. Decorate and bring bottle to life.

  8. Give the bottle a name.

  9. Add cape.

  10. What was once a bottle is now a BOTTLE BUDDY!

DONE!
